Clinical & Educational Assessments
Assessments for strategies and support
We complete a wide range of assessments for assisting with diagnoses.
Please note, we do not diagnose, as this can only been completed by a medical professional. However, we can complete assessments that you can then give to your doctor for diagnosis.
Our assessments include:
WIAT-III
The WIAT-III identifies the academic strengths and challenges of a student. This assessment assists with informing the decisions schools need to make around educational services including educational placements or diagnosis of a specific learning disability. It also assists with designing instructional objectives and plan intervention.
The WIAT-III assesses Oral Reading, Oral Expression, Listening Comprehension, Reading Comprehension, Early Reading Skills, Written Expression and Maths Fluency.
These areas of achievement are important for identifying and classifying lead=ringing disabilities.
Vineland – 3
The Vineland -3 is used for supporting the diagnosis of intellectual and developmental disabilities. It addresses the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities such as Autism and ADHD.
The Vineland-3 assesses the domains of communication, Daily Living Skills, Socialization Skills, Motor Skills and Maladaptive Behaviours.
The Vineland-3 supports diagnosis, determines eligibility for support services such as NDIS, assists with plans for rehabilitation and intervention programs and tracks and reports progress.
Autism Assessment (ADOS-2)
ADOS-2 is the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition. ADOS – 2 is viewed as the ‘gold standard’ for observational assessment for autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
The ADOS – 2 can be used to evaluate almost anyone suspected of having ASD from 1-year olds who do not consistently use phrase speech to adults who are verbally fluent.
ADOS-2 is a semi-structured standardized assessment of communication, social interaction, play and restricted and repetitive behaviours. By observing and coding these behaviours, clinicians can obtain information that informs diagnosis, intervention, treatment planning and educational placement.
Sensory Assessment – Sensory Profile 2
The sensory Profile 2 helps to identify and document the effects of sensory processing on a child’s participation at school, home or in the community. It also contributes valuable information to a comprehensive assessment of the child’s sensory strengths and challenges.
The Sensory Profile 2 is helpful to develop effective treatment plans, interventions and everyday remediation strategies.
Please contact us if your medical professional has requested other assessments as we may be able to do these. The ones listed here are the most commonly requested. We do complete others!
